Behind The Wall of Sleep

Gosh, it's been along time since I've updated. A lot has happened in the past few months. Got an internship, returned to school, started working on another game (I'll talk about that later), survived another semester, etc. Now that I think about it, I've been quite busy. Anyway, enough of all that nonsense, here's the work reel for my senior project. You remember that little teaser I posted some time ago? It's come a long way since then.

Still have plenty of work to do however. I think I need to take vacation soon. A proper one, maybe next month. I hear San Francisco is nice that time of year...

Stay Calm,

Hallowed Point

What I've been working on lately. It's unfinished, as there are a few minor details on the receiver that need to be added (Along with texturing, re-topology, etc.) but I figured now would be as good a time as any to show my progress. Like usual, click on the thumbnail to see the full-sized image.

Demo Reel 2010-2011

I submit to you my 2010-2011 Demo Reel. Those of you with a good memory will recognize a striking resemblance between the first clip and a new project that I hinted at not so long ago. This resemblance is no coincidence as they are one and the same, but more on that later. For now, I implore you indulge your interests and fancy in my immediate collection of work from the years of our lord two-thousand-and-ten through two-thousand-and-eleven. Enjoy!

The 2010 and 2011 semesters are over, the summer of 11 is just beginning, and I see great things on the horizon of 2012! Strap in, my friends, adventure awaits!

Blood and Thunder!

We ARE the People.

Once again finals have rolled around and once again it's turned into a stressful semester. No matter how hard you prepare or how much you plan, when the scope of your workload increases, somethings gotta give. Naturally when that occurs, posting on a blog becomes less of a priority. The good news is I've gotten used to it, and I do believe I can accomplish all of my goals in the next two weeks. I just have a few long nights ahead of me.

In the mean time, I'm currently running for student representative of my department at school because I'd like to be more involved in the direction my department is going. So, to promote myself as a candidate to my peers, I created a little propaganda poster on Sunday to sway voters to my cause because... Why not?

End of Line,

A Taste Of Things To Come...

I'm not dead, this isn't a video, and I haven't forgotten about you. Working on something big, I'll tell you more soon.

Wake Up Dead

It's been awhile since I've posted. Calm down, I haven't gone on hiatus or anything like that. I'll just say this semester's been a brutal one and I'll leave it at that.

I give you four drawings of four friends with portions of their faces missing. I'm beginning to notice a pattern in my use of zombies as a means of learning how to properly use a graphics program. In this case: Flash.

I'll be sure to post more stuff soon.

Stay Grotesque...

What's Wrong With Your Face?

Earlier this year my classes introduced me to zBrush. In the interest of learning the program and it's capabilities, I made my first assignment simple: A bust of a human head.

I was surprised by how quickly zBrush allowed me to create organic forms. So I decided to take my sculpt another step forward and create a zombie.

My thought process is not terribly complex. I am okay with this.

Stay Ugly,
-Dave
